entrapment

to my very limited legal knowledge, I don't believe that the boys had the proverbial leg to stand on with an entrapment defense.

it is my understanding that a civilian, even one working *with* an Law Enforcement Agency, cannot by legal definition "entrap" another civilian...the entrapment laws only pertain to duly sworn Officers and Agents.

who knows...but I was told this directly from an FBI agent...maybe it has changed since I was told.

(and yes, of course it's come to mind that they might have lied to me, but there *are* different rules for civilians)
