why is there luggage on the train platforms?

except for the troodons who wear caps and vests and the junior conductors who wear caps, none of the dinosaurs wear any clothing

I suppose that they could be used to carry things but I've never seen any dino carry anything except Tiny who brings her tiny dolls along sometimes and Shiny with her seashells, and sometimes Don gets a new piece for his collection, but no one ever has anything that needs a suitcase to carry it

so why do they need suitcases on the platforms

they don't even have anyplace to carry luggage on the train, no baggage car, not even racks above the seats to place luggage, except once when the pteranodons and Gilbert played hide and seek and Shiny hid in the rack once but it has since disappeared

Maybe the suitcases are full of food so they don't eat each other.

Maybe it's their nest. They pack it up so they can still sleep in it when they get to wherever they're going.

but they have nests already set up in the sleeper car

and if they contained food, they would need coolers to hold them

besides which, they had a fishing expidition to the big pond (which is actually not a pond but a lagoon as sea animals are shown as being there such as archelons, hermit crabs and sea stars) that they just plopped a large pile of fish down on an unused seat and we heard flies flying around it

Yes, they have nests in the sleeper car on the train, but not where they are traveling to. Also, Don has his collections that he may be traveling with.
