Let this be a lesson to VH1

I sincerely hope that 51minds, Chris Abrego and VH1 have all learned their lessons. I hope other realty shows learn a lesson from this also. These people are supposed to have a criminal background check, STD tests, drug tests and undergo psychological evaluation. Some people slip through the cracks because they make good tv.

They keep beating the same dead horse. I will give them a point for trying to be creative with this show. But if they spent the time searching how much these guys were worth, then they should have done a background check on them as well. Why was that not important? Supposed these men got rich from selling drugs? How could they not check?

I have a feeling that VH1 ! knew about Ryan's past trouble with the law, That is something that should show up if they did a check. Brittanya was at least upfront about her arrest. Saphyrri is another one who is paying for her crimes.

I knew it was only be a matter of time, before something would low up in VH1's face with all of these shows they're trying to throw out there/

And to be honest, it's because of many of us why they keep doing this show It's disgusting that some people on here and people that I know in real life are more concerned with the show being canceled and have absolutely no sadness in their hearts for the victim.

I hope VH1 takes this as a hint to go back to how they were and show actual music. If they aren't showing reality shows, they're showing The Wedding Singer, What's Love Got to Do With It, The Temptations, An American Dream, Grease and a few others. They barely show any music and rather cash in on people who are willing to be exploited for a taste of fame. Revert back to showing music videos or have a TRL type show.

My heart goes out to the victim and her family.

I wonder if this will be the end of Vh1, they're going to lose alot of money. I wish they would go back to being a music oriented channel.

I agree and Icould care less about reality shows. This is coming from my mind, sure I took a peak at I Love New York or Flava of Love every now and then, but I'm just sick of reality shows all together. VH1 is not the only ones showing reality shows MTV and BET as well. Maybe this will be a wake up call to all the TV channels and that is just plain sad. I really agree that VH1 should go back to playing music and maybe some movies related to music make it how it was when I was little girl in the 80's. Then the same for MTV I remember them when I was a little girl in the 80's at about 5 watching nothing but music and music on MTV not no reality shows. The only reality show I like on MTV is Real World and that is it.

I was watching Nancy Grace last night and I saw that clip of Ryan on the Megan wants to be a millionaire, so what if Megan had picked Ryan? Do you think she would have been a victim of his? That is truly sad that someone would do something like this to women.

I know you right. I'm 27 now and I remember back in the 90's I used to come home from school and turn right to MTV to watch TRL and to see Carson Daly (he is so fine). I'll watch VH1's "top 20" countdown and after that that is it.

It depends on where you live. Because where I am, videos do not come on at 2am. They start at 5 am/6

The beginning of the end of VH1 reality dating shows? And to think and all this crap really started with Surreal Life and Strangelove. It's like VH1 cashed in with those shows, added Flavor of Loves series and never looked back. Look at the monster it created.
VH1 could go back to just airing music videos but with VH1 Classic, VH1 Soul, VH1 Country they probably don't feel the need to air videos all day being that those channels also focus on particular music categories and of course there's the digital MTV channels play mostly videos as well. Not everyone has these channels but they're trying to get more people to pay extra for those channels I think.
Hopefully Behind the Music is what can save VH1 with new as well as old (but updated espisodes). Can't get anymore music related than that. While they won't cancel out all reality shows overnight they can at least do away with the trashy dating shows being that they let anyone run up on these shows without checking their backgrounds.
