I've noticed that when you are a Good character, people will randomly come and ask you for help.
Some just ask you to heal a person, which is pretty simple.
Others cry out that they've been robbed, or that someone has been mugged.
When i go in the direction they are indicating, there is usually a civilian standing there surrounded by 3 or so Reapers.
Am i to assume that it's the Reapers that are mugging the one civilian?
It's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care.
Yup. Be careful not to kill the civilians when going after the muggers. If you're bored though, just tossing a grenade into the middle of things and walking away works nicely.

Do you know if you get any kind of 'special' karma or exp points for helping out in the muggings (besides what you get normally for killing the Reapers)?
I guess what i'm trying to ask is, for these special scenerios (the special healings/muggings), are they like "mini" side quests, where you'd get some kind of bonus for completing them?
