Why the duct tape jacket?

it was in case he needed it to tape up anyone.
he used it on the mouths of the 2 policemen he tied up with a plastic tie.

it was an interesting movie..
would they get away?

but the suspense was there...
I was vested in the characters enough to watch it to the end.

I thought it was an interesting detail. So he didn't end up needing duct tape. Yet it's a great idea to carry some with you when you need to be ready for anything. Good for the writers to include duct tape that eventually wasn't needed!
