Patrick Wilson and Vera are the worst thing about this movie

There's something so corny about their acting and characters, referring to themselves as 'demonologists'. What the hell is this, Buffy the Vampire Slayer? They should've used more nuanced characters.

You do realized this was based off of real people don’t you? They DID refer to themselves as demonologists. Their portrayals were based on actual footage of the couple.

Opinion still seems pretty divided over whether they believed what they were selling or were just frauds.

I agree the characters were cliche and corny.
