What about the Haunting in Orleans Parish?

One of the spookiest, creepiest places in the US is Old Metairie in Jefferson Parish to Orleans Parish, the Spooky cemetaries, Plantation mansions and the murky swamps along with the Voodoo Culture and numerous deaths have turned New Orleans into one of the creepiest yet most exciting places in the US to visit.. The whole city is haunted and everybody knows it.
That would make a great supernatural horror flick.
But i guess it's already been done with more than a few Horror flicks filmed there.

i was born and raised here in new orleans and you are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT -- we have tons of haunted places besides the grave yards, french quarter (so many buildings there are completely haunted, esp w/slaves) there are certain places in the french quarter i think it would be best you get a person to guide you -- like a tour... also we have haunted plantations as well... they really should do a movie of the hauntings that go on down here.. take it from me bc i actually live here and have experienced the tour of the haunted places..

I've always thought a movie or book concerning the Lalaurie house would be very frightening.

Ah, ever since I visited and went on one of NO's ghost tour back in 2004, I thought what a great horror movie it'd be and why no one has touched it! That would be one really *beep* up movie.

The movie The St. Francisville Experiment deals with the LaLaurie legend. I'm not saying it does so well, but it does cover it a good bit while transplanting the haunting to a new location. That movie is a guilty pleasure for me to be sure, so be warned its really not for everyone.

They just made Season 3 of American Horror Story all about New Orleans and Madam Lalaurie. Check it out!

Which one sweetie, you would have to narrow it down a lot. My father's family is from New Orleans and I use to go visit and there are A LOT of supernatural phenomenon and creepy houses, areas, swamps, etc. I do not know about the cemeteries since most are above ground due to being under sea level, but some old plantations had/have family cemeteries that are freaky.

A movie about the Myrtles Plantation could be creepy too. Soo much haunted history in LA could translate well to horror films.

My favorite episode of "Twilight Zone" is "Jessabelle". I doubt the movie mentioned above is connected though. :(

Yes, it mixed those two legends together with horror gaming. It was called Stay Alive.
