Sounds really interesting. Thanks for the info. I rather liked the connecticut film, so maybe this one will be cool as well.

Actually, this is the second movie to be made from the Discovery Channel series called A Haunting. They released a DVD I recently bought that had this title and The Haunting in Connecticut episodes of the series on it. Each episode is a little over 90 minutes. You can buy it at Wal-mart for $5.00. You can see more information about the DVD at this link:

The Connecticut movie is very close to the television episode but there was definitely some major dramatic license taken with some of the events. I am looking forward to seeing this movie, and am assuming that they are taking the same dramatic license judging from the cast of this film. I won't say more so I don't ruin it, but the series seems to have spanned a lot more time than the movie will.

Don't lie to him. That is simply not true and you're trying to make an ass out of him. I think this is the sequel by the way.

"Point of No Return"

It's not a sequel. These two movies are about two completely different families and situations. The only connection is both stories were told on the series A Haunting,

It's just a part of the trilogy from the makers of "The Haunting In CT." First there was "Haunting In CT", then this is the second, and the third will take place in NY.

This film was originally titled "The Haunting In Georgia", but for some ridiculous reason just recently they changed the title to "The Haunting In Connecticut 2: Ghosts in Georgia" which just makes it look ridiculous now and there was no reason for that whatsoever. I think this is going to be an awesome film and the title is now gonna turn people away from it. Not a smart move on the part of the studio/makers. Not to mention it has absolutely nothing to do with the state of CT.

Oh well.

I agree. I would have gotten the source material connection if they'd just called it "A Haunting in Georgia." Throwing Connecticut in the title is confusing. It's probably going to lead to some pretty good jokes on TV when this comes out though.

reply

They probably went for this title to attract the interest of people who happened to like or remember the first film.

Did you bring the Plastic Men?

so next is The Haunting In Connecticut 3: ghosts of new york!?

reply

They should just call it Haunting in Georgia, Connecticut and Georgia are two different places.

In the words of George Takei, "Oh My!"

It has NOTHING to do with the first one. I enjoyed the first one but I must say I like the story and creepiness of the second one more, that little girl was great! Most of the time I find child actors in horror movies to just be too much over the top or annoying but she played the role really well....

I agree, I was on her to say the same thing. Calling it 'A Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia' is definitely a stupid idea. It doesn't make sense. It's a disconnected sequel that has no connection aside from the series it came from. I agree, they should have simply called it'A Haunting in Georgia'. It still would have followed the title theme without trying to confuse people into believing they're connected. This is what happens when you get un-inventive people doing the marketing.

The title make it seem that the Ghosts of Connecticut took a road trip to Georgia, and began a haunting in Georgia. Why didn't they just call it A Haunting in Georgia, that is what it is based on.

In no way whatsoever.

Prof. Farnsworth: Oh. A lesson in not changing history from Mr. I'm-My-Own-Grandpa!

reply

yes it would have made more sense if they just dropped .."In Connecticut" from the title and just went with "The Haunting 2: Ghosts of Georgia"

reply

It's all about the marketing.

Georgia is IN Connecticut! If you can believe that? Then you'll also believe that this film is based on a "True Story".. That seems to be a huge "tag line" lately...
