It's better than either of the Red Dawn movies, though it doesn't totally do justice to John Marsden's book.

I don't think he's ever admitted it, but you'd have to think that Marsden may have been influenced by Red Dawn which was released some 9 years before he wrote the book which this film is based upon.🐭

You are right. Marsden basically plagiarised the Red Dawn movie.
