Interesting Introduction to Cage Fighting

This is not a big production with high values.
In terms of movie making it falls short in acting, scene jumps (editing), sound quality and pacing.

But,if you are a fan of martial arts (not talking about the movie magic type)this seems to get down to the actual bone-breaking, joint-dislocating brutality of the real thing.

I'm not a fan of cage fighting - but the skills involved are real and that counts for something.

I liked the way the movie included actual members of the UFC community such as one of the Gracies.

I liked the way they went thru the training such as kick-boxing and grappling.

We often hear the argument about which is better; UFC - or a more traditional approach to martial arts - the differences. I think the film actually made a point, subtly, in the final act. We go back and forth between scenes of the kids fighting in the cage and the scenes of Jino Kang duking it out with the bad guys to free his wife. What we see is that in the cage there are some rules (ex you can tap out); on the street there are no rules. In the cage you can get hurt pretty bad, but not near as bad as on the street. In the cage you win or lose a competition. On the street you can win or lose your life.

"Who would win?" is a discussion for endless debate, but I think that a traditionally trained martial artist using the most destructive and deadly techniques in his arsenal (not allowed in the cage) might do more damage than a UFC fighter. But well, you know, it depends ........
