I don't trust doctors to find a pencil sticking out of someone's ear

Whenever I've been sick, I research my symptoms, make a list of things for the doctor to check and give him the list. Doctors find this insulting and I don't care! It's my body, and my life and I refuse to just plop myself on a hospital bed and put my life in a doctors hands in blind faith, hoping that they are competent and not going through a divorce or something personal that is taking away his full attention from his job.

Sadly, my sister who is a Dentist and did hospital rotations with the interns as a part of her under graduation studies, over-heard some doctors not giving a damn about some patients. It was based upon prejudice.

She overheard this in the locker room. They did not have mini tapes or cell phones back then.
