It seems like any of the teen dads that are 18 or younger are mentally incapable of dedicating themselves to a child... all of them are SO immature and unable to take any responsibility at ALL. It's crazy, no matter how nice they seem in the beginning.

There have actually been a couple dads who really stepped up to the plate and did everything they could for the moms and babies. A few of them were eighteen and only a year or two older. I remember a majority of the dads in Season 4 rose to the occasion (I think that was more of MTV's casting, since most of the couples in Season 3 were complete disasters; MTV was looking for more boring couples to even out the drama). But, yeah, there has been a fair share of involved fathers.

Some of them don't know how to take care of an infant. So they don't even bother to try and learn how to do those things. Its frustrating to watch.
shareIt's because they are all too young to have kids and when the reality sets in of taking care of a child, it's too much.
My partner was 24 when we had our daughter and yes he struggled being a dad, like any man would, but I think his age helped, and he is an amazing dad and stuck around. I think if we were younger, hadn't been together for many years, hadn't actually planned to have a child, then things would have worked out a lot differently
Yeah, but the girls are just as young and often are more committed to their children. It's just fascinating how boys develop so much slower than girls.

Because her carrying, birthing, and having the child with her means nothing?
The fathers didn't go through a quarter of what the girls did: they didn't have to grow up as quickly. If the show was teen dad, if those boys somehow went through pregnancy themselves, I guarantee they'd be just as forcibly mature as the girls.
