Skeeter's hair style in this film

It was distracting - she looked more like she was in the mid 70s - mid 80s instead of 1963-64. Otherwise, this film looked exactly period-correct.

Yes this is a BIG plot hole. The writers thought they were making her likeable to the viewing audiences. Assumed that we would not know that we were supposed to latch onto her otherwise.

How could it be a plot hole or a writer's mistake when that's purely a directorial decision that has nothing to do with plot?

It was a wig. A horrible wig that totally distracted from her character.

"When a day starts like this, it's all uphill from here."

I think her hair was a metaphor. Skeeter was as controllable as her hair. And both were out of control in the humid 1960's South. And at times she wanted to fit in, like when she went on her first date with Stuart. But she realized it wasn't worth it.

I thought it was out of place to for the time period but did not see it as distracting. I thought it was pretty. Never thought it was a wig. I thought she was one that was not wearing a wig.

Yes I cant agree with u more. I kept starring @ her hair everytime. Lol. She looked good when her.mom did.her hair. It looks so much better that way. Yesssssssssssss.....

In the book it was an important part of her character, how she felt she didn't fit in with the other girls because her hair was ''unmanageable'' and she was too tall.

reply

God forbid a movie try to stay true to the character descriptions from the source material. She had curly, unmanageable hair in the book.

But they did not even try for curly 1960's hair...
