I have to agree at the maudlin state of this film. While it presents a superior cast, the story, dialogue, and general tempo is staggeringly slow and does nothing to engage with the audience. The actors exchange questions with questions in a neverending series of bland deliveries. The film reeks of student film project and one wonders if James Franco is enjoining himself to such kinds of exercises because he's pursuing a doctorate degree. If so, I'd give the film a solid C+ and no more. At the Ph.D. level, a C is the worst grade possible. This film is one of the worst.
