Is Hank really unemployed?

I read in a magazine that he doesn't have a job and last episode I saw he was away trying to get a business deal of some sort. Is he signed with another football team now or are they broke until he gets another deal? I don't watch sports so I wouldn't know.

Last season Kendra and Hank heavily hinted that he was having issues with his football contract. I think they've already hit rock bottom financially though hence the 'moving around to find the perfect place' storyline. Perfect place probably meant affordable, but not in the ghetto.

Yep, I guess technically he is a free agent, but so far, no NFL teams have requested his services. Maybe if a bunch of wide receivers get injured later in the season...

His carerr has kinda sucked since he met and married Kendra. Kendra herself mentioned that in her second book, she was wondering if she was a curse upon his football career

I don't know if he was a "nobody", certainly not an All-Pro, but fairly good stats: (from Espn.com)

Hank's stats in the 3 years before he married Kendra (he met her I think in the summer before the 2008 season, he proposed at the Space Needle in Seattle, when the Eagles were in town to play the Seahawks)

GP REC YDS AVG LNG TD FD FUM LST
2006 PHI 16 22 464 21.1 89 2 17 0 0
2007 PHI 16 16 142 8.9 25 1 5 0 0
2008 PHI 15 33 440 13.3 90 3 22 1 0

And in the 2 seasons since:
GP REC YDS AVG LNG TD FD FUM LST
2009 IND 11 4 28 7.0 9 0 1 0 0
2009 PHI 1 1 6 6.0 6 0 0 0 0
2010 MIN 6 1 18 18.0 18 0 1 0 0

(Regular season only, so doesn't include that famous fumble in Super Bowl XLIV)

Sorry about the alignment, I tried to line it up, looked OK in preview, but I guess the IMDB software didn't like it

And of course, he is currently unsigned for this season, that could possibly change later on, but I doubt it. So, the marriage (and subsequent birth of Hank IV) may have had an effect. Good thing he is looking to possibilities after football, as seen on the last 2 shows.

LoL your guys' comments are funny. I hadn't ever heard of Hank Baskett before Kendra got with him, but that's because I don't watch sports. My brother-in-law says he sucks though and that comment was made in early 2010.

Since posting this I saw Hank was going to agencies because they were offering him deals of some sort (to be honest I wasn't paying that much attention) and he got Kendra some expensive jewelry. Maybe they're not that bad off, but to be unsigned when you're a professional athlete doesn't seem like a good thing to me.

I also get the impression that the house Kendra and Hank are in is probably just being loaned to them for filming purposes only. There was a shot on the episode where her friend went on the date and the room beside her behind the open door had painters supplies in it and was all junky looking. Needless to say I wouldn't be shocked in Kendra, Hank, and baby Hank are living in a tiny 1 bedroom apartment somewhere.

It's highly unlikely that Kendra is pulling in Kardashian dough. If someone has proof otherwise feel free to post links. I don't mind being wrong.

I agree, no way that Kendra is making nearly as much as any of the Kardashians, but she's probably doing OK. Probably getting 5 figures an episode for the show, plus her books, plus other deals. I'd say, mid-6 figures a year. When Hank was playing, he was probably making mid-six figures (doubt if he ever got over a million a year), but now that appears to be over with.
