BRILLIANT, CLEVER, ORIGINAL FILM WITH EXCELLENT CAST

It aggrovates me to see amateur critics dismissing and putting down a film which is actually very clever and original. Just for the Record includes a cast that 8/ 10 film producers and directors would absolutely kill for. It portrays British movie star Danny Dyer in a completely different type role for him, stepping away from stereotypical cockney / hardman image that we have become accustomed to. Dyer certainly proves that he is far from a one-trick pony with a witty and versatile performance. Other notable and wonderful performances from Ian Virgo, Roland Manookian, Craig Fairbrass, Billy Murray and the always-amusing Rik Mayall. The list of known, featured actors in this movie is astonishing. So hats off to rookie director Steven Lawson who has pulled this sort of film out of the bag as his first, with this type of cast. So haters need to either keep their opinions to themsleves or go and make a movie themsleves, and see how far they get .

Have to say that I thought Ian Virgo was hilarious in his role.

Totally agree with you delishdenise he was really funny. Ian Virgo stole the film for me. Sean Pertwee and Danny were good too.

I thought this film was great. Knowing my sense of humour a friend recommended it to me. I use to work in the UK film/tv indusrty and I now live in Australia.
The idea was clever and did remind me of a few jobs I have been on!
Some great comical moments and awesome performances.
An enjoyable watch makes a change from things out there at the moment.

Yes, it had some funny actors, and I'll watch anything Rik Mayall does, but honestly, I didn't laugh once. The entire tone of the movie was just... off.

The fact that the movie was about a movie that was badly written and directed didn't help, either.

So haters need to either keep their opinions to themsleves or go and make a movie themsleves, and see how far they get.

Well, voicing one's opinion is what this site is for, you know.

And this "hater" is not in the film making business, because I'm self-aware enough to know I'd suck at it - if only mr Lawson had exercised a little restraint and introspection I wouldn't have wasted hundreds of megabytes of bandwidth on this deeply unfunny PoS.

Thanks for your opinion (just as valued as anyone else's here), but this isn't a site for filmmakers it's a site for people who watch movies. And if they didn't like it, it's not going to get rated highly, regardless of how well respected the people involved may be.

You must of been involved in and probably lost some money on this. Only way your (one and only)post makes any sense at all. At least you should have learned by now, that big names (if that's what you'd call annoyingly overpresent Danny Dyer) don't ever save a feeble script.
Calling those amateurs and haters, who disagree with you, won't change a thing about how awful this movie is. Even more so, the quality cast considered.
