kitten drowning!...ya , that always good in a 'comedy'


ok, I get that as a practical matter on a farm, that if a feral "barn cat" population is not kept in check that you will go from 2 cats to a couple dozen in short order. THAT SAID, the cat drowning scene served no purpose whatsoever.
WTF....can anyone explain this to me.
