Some of the writing is kind of funny but it's hard to watch the show without rolling your eyes... I don't think there is a single original thing about this show.

I pretty much thought the same thing. Especially the first several episodes of this show. It's like they weren't trying to write anything realistic, just go with every cliche in the book of 'how to make a high school tv show.' Things like RJ getting the lead in a play to kiss the hot girl was just cringe-worthy.
