Religion

Why is every family on this show so religious?

reply

I kno, right!!

I'm Liberal, I'm a Democrat, Get used to it! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

reply

Maybe they choose them so that the families back home feel more comfortable sending their kids there.

I feel like as if these religious "host" parents feel that their religion is what makes people moral. One of them had the nerve to say that people who have sex before marriage are being selfish! Quite close minded.

reply

I can't believe people believe that garbage. How can anyone know if the person their marrying is really the one unless they test out every part of their relationship, especially the physical part because intimacy and love-making are very important aspects of love. I think it's totally fine as long as you love the person. I also have to just say that even though I feel like that I have no problems with adult film stars. It's a career they have and it's just like any other job. It's acting and sex is a part of life. Religious people need to realize that.

Don't assume that religion is a bad thing, hate to break it to you non-religious people but it is a good thing. Absolutly nothing wrong with people who are Christians and believe in God, some of the best people in the world are Christian, not all religious people are stuck-up ass-holes, admittedly Christians are notorious for shoving their belifs down other peoples throats but not all of us, my point is religion is not a bad thing, quite the opposite, and not all religious people are bad.

Thing about this show is though, they make the teens go to church with them even if they don't have the same beliefs. Thats lame.

Religion isn't a bad thing, religious hypocrites are. I'm actually considering to have a future in being a world religions teacher. I really want to teach people's kids while they're young especially narrow-minded one's that there's a lot of religion to consider and to not believe something just because your family does.

Well, I mean I believe what my family believes because I truly believe it myself so it all works out, though people think I'm narrow-minded because I'm Christian and that disrespect gets hurtful after awhile.

Also I'm not ignorant at all, I am perfectly interested in other people and religion of all types, even if I don't believe it myself I have no problem with those people and wouldn't mind being friends, in fact I don't think I have a problem with anybody, people deserve to be who they want to be and believe what they want and I'd like to get to know them so just because I'm Christian doesn't mean I'm an *beep* like most other Christians which i think is embarrassing to my religion.

I hope you don't think I was being dis-respectful or atacking you because I wasn't. You seem really cool. I have an Odinist friend that's whole family is Odinist. She believes it all on her own though and really looks into Odinism and reads books about it. Her current boyfriend is a Christian and that doesn't come in between me. It bothers me that some people think that should matter.

WarrinsVampiress_forever i guess everyone is different, but if you need to test out the sex part to see if someone is "the one" then they most probably arent. Sex shouldnt be the glue that holds a relationship together, and for many people out there it's perhaps the only reason they are together in the first place.

I'm a Christian and I find most of the people and the extremes they go to completely ridiculous! I would have a horrid time living in their houses! GAH!

Because usually religious ppl live by rules and have boundaries, not a bad thing actually. But I don't think that even the majority of the families are religious. In fact I've only seen one family that would have been considered religious.

reply

Being religious does not equate with having morals. It's annoying when *some* people think being religious makes you good. Like, no. If you're only good because you don't want to burn in Hell, you're just faking it (not saying all, or even a lot of theists are). At least good atheists are good not because they have to be, but because they just are.

Bottom line? Good atheists have morals. I might be stretching to even say they have more morals, because they don't have to be bribed out of doing bad things.

If this is offensive, (which it really shouldn't be), I was not trying to offend/attack you or anybody else.

Okay...No, it's not okay!

Oddly enough some of the most level headed people who reinforced good deeds in the show were the Turks. Not sure how religious they were but they were the only ones to laugh and joke and simply let the kids self-explore and see how they were wrong. As opposed to punishming them for dumb *beep*
