I wasn't brought up in such a strict manner but I turned out just fine. I did what I was told and I was taught to be honest and respectful. I did not need to have the door to my bedroom taken off (kids do need some privacy),none of my belongings were searched, I did not have to engage in hard labor as if I were a prisoner,etc. I believe in discipline but the parents are taking it too far. Children do need their space.

It is a bit much. No bedroom doors,parents going through their kid's belongins and their phones,not being able to say "crap", making the kids engage in hard labor just for saying "crap". Come on. I had privacy and I turned out fine. I don't steal,lie,nor did I ever back-talk. These parents need to trust their children.

shareGood for you. But not every parent is the same. They all have their own opinions and beliefs on how they want to do things. And usually it starts with their own background and how they were brought up.
