I enjoyed this film a lot, but I'm afraid to share it...

...since most people on this board consider this films completely crazy and liked by crazy people.
I thought the dialog was genius and made up 90% of the film! It convinced me to read the book. I laughed and then I cried. I don't understand why so many people felt offended while watching this film, since it clearly states everywhere, including here on IMDb, that this is the story of a man suffering from a mental condition/illness. It's obvious that normal, healthy people don't act in such a crazy way or are sexist, homophobic, evil etc. whatever Robertson is like in this film. There are far crazier, messier films out there than Filth, which is supposed to be an entertaining comedy drama. All the actors gave incredible performances here, James McAvoy on top of course. Perhaps British humor is harder to digest for the uninitiated and an acquired test for those who understand the language and Scottish dialects.

I feel the same way actually. It's a film I go back and watch every now and then and I there's something about the book that really gets to me, making me feel so many different emotions at once. But it isn't quite one I can recommend to people as I know people won't be able to see past Robbo as a mean racist homophobic bully (which he is but you have to keep going to find out just how broken he is)
