a politically correct view of WW2

This really is simplistic, politically correct rubbish.
The script sounds as if it has been written by a ten year old who has just started reading The Guardian. Very superficially drawn characters with little understanding of 1940 class structure.
It is so stilted that I feel bad fot the actors.
If anyone thinks that this is historical in any way, then they will be disappointed
If you want to see something which is slightly nearer the truth then see the film Landgirls of about ten years ago. It also was generally a rose tinted view of the Land Girl programme but there was some very good acting by the three girls, and the Farmer actually seemed like a farmer from the 40's. The part about the ploughing of a virgin field may not have been reality but it was poignant.

I suppose it was airing at teatime and aimed at a younger audience. It was simplistic but still enjoyable I thought.

I understand Laura but that is what makes the whole series so eggregious.
The BBC, as usual, at its old politically correct tricks.
How do children learn anything real if people like the BBC make the whole thing like Peter Pan!
Quite pathetic.

This is a very very badly researched load of codswallop.
Glaring mistakes at every turn.
Sadly this stinks more than a pile of horse manure.
And as for the acting ability of of the land army girls I have seen better at an infant school's nativity play.
It should be taken out to a fields (Some where in England ) and buried as deep as possible before people start to believe this load of total garbage.

I agree with all of you. It really did come down to 'count the cliches' and presented every stock character you could ever find in a war drama. Having said that the cast did their best. It was just rather misjudged, IMO.

Now that is one of the best ideas yet. Especially as the ATA are looking for money for their museum at this time.

Instead of just complaining and hating on the show, could you explain yourself a bit clearer? If you want me to not see this show as historically correct, please explain what it did so wrong.
