The dungarees
I own an original pair from ww2 , worn by my granny. Although I don't think she ever put them on:) I wear them on a regular basis in the garden. They never tear or get worn :)

shareThat's an memorable item to have passed down. It's lovely to have something of your Grandmothers to not just keep but wear. When I wear my Grandmother's shirts I feel a sudden need to clean everything spotless! It's lovely to feel close to her after so many years.
What did you grandmother do in the Auxiliary? Was it mandatory or the proper thing to do to support the war effort, or both? Queen Elizabeth seemed to take her job seriously when she was learning to maintain and drive autos. It showed even at that young age she took her commitments seriously.
That's awesome!
