The Cars!

I had no idea there were so many vintage cars in Britain. Ford Cortina GT, Rover P6s, even an Austin Marina! Who the heck keeps an Austin Marina alive these days? Anyway, it was fun to see those great old cars from the 60s and 70s.

In the UK where the movie is supposed to take place, they were called Morris Marinas.

I am a very decisive person, I think.

Thanks for naming the Ford Cortina. I was curious what that was; hadn't seen one of those since I was a kid.

you know this film was set in the 80s right?
but ill be honest it only really started clicking in my head when i saw the cars and thought that exact same thing of; 'how come there are so many Rover p6s about?'

reply

There are vintage car clubs in a place like Britain for every sort of car, regardless of what virtues or vices the vehicles have-people like what they like-the big problem would be getting a mix of cars that reflected what was on the road at the time and in a variety of conditions as collectors would have cars in good to excellent nick, not old bombs.

You do realise there are film car companies that supply the film business with these old vehicles, don't you.

Old cars are needed on sets everyday. They do good business.
