I know, I've known about this movie for a while, when I heard Diversity, Georga Sampson etc were doing a 3d dance flick.

I can't believe nobody is posting here yet, I thought this board would be filled with anticipation.

This is either going to be really bad or just bad but lovable like most dance films.
(I have a collection of super cheesy dance films...)

I saw the trailer a few days ago after finally seeing Avatar and I was like "Huh?? - Why not show the trailer in 3D?" but in fact the trailer was in 3D. Didn't notice it at all.
I really want this movie to do well as :-
A) I used to work in dance and know some of the guys attached to this
B) I now work in film and really want something decent to come out of the UK.

UK dancers bust their asses but just don't get the recognition they deserve, unless you're a dancer then it's unlikely you can name a single British choreographer.
UK film is dead on it's feet, in fact being a British artist is pretty much a creative suicide mission.

But here's the rub, most dance films suck - saved only by the set pieces.
Most dancers make poor actors so get crap scripts because they're there to move, not talk.
Unless you know what you are doing, filming dance can be bad, bad, bad.
And finally 3D?? Well let's hope that the choreography takes in the fact that there is a 3D element which is not the same as seeing live dance.

Nobody can expect this to be a great movie, but it's not Avatar - it has to work regardless of whether it's 3D or not, which is basically down to the dance sequences.

Now if I want to see great dance then I'll go see a show, I just don't get the point of watching dance in 3D, it's not as if dance is some special effect like a blue glowing plant that you can't experience in real life.

I want this to work, but everything is telling me it's going to be yet another British awww moment. Tried hard but really embarrassing.

Fingers crossed I'm proved wrong.

Hmm, I recently watched "Moon" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1182345/ . That was a great movie and it was British. So I think there's hope for UK movies :-)

This post is such an obvious, obvious plant by Vertigo Pictures, the makers of the film. Please note that the only other film Peckham 5 has posted about is something called w Delta z, which is also produced by -- guess who? -- Vertigo Pictures. What an astonishing coincidence.

Try a little harder next time, folks.

the dancing and the soundtrack carry this film. The 3d was a nice touch but having seen the trailer for step up 3d they seem to have really embraced the 3d dancing idea on a level above streetdance.

The story and some of the acting is not the greatest i have to be honest, but if this is your genre the film delivers some excellent dancing to some great music, making it entertaining enough.
