is this a 'remake' of the rohmer film?

rohmer made a film in the mid 80s, i think, called, in english "boyfriends and girlfriends" but the french title is translated. i think, my girlfriend's boyfriend. does anone know if this was the original inspiraton or is this a "remake" of that film. i use the term remake very loosely.
