India's pick for Oscar!!! No way..I'm sure its Amir Khan behind this..

Believe me...I liked this movie a lot!!!! My rating for this movie would be 8/10.
This is a great satire and a quality movie...But India's pick for Oscars ??? No way.
I think Udaan is a way better movie and was a much better movie and should have been the choice for Oscar entry..or for that matter KuttySrank..India's national award winner.
I know there are people who will jump at this and say...that foreign audience will like this subject and not Udaan...Bcoz this shows the true face of India ...yada ..yada ..yada.
Believe me guys...it is with this mentality that we send horrible movies to oscars every year and do not send the ones that really have a chance.
Its not what we want to send...but its what is good that should be sent. I know Mr Amir Khan must have pulled a few strings here and there..and would have convinced the council that he has a better idea of playing the politics that is required for get an Oscar entry....

I haven't seen Udaan, but I would definitely consider Peepli Live to be Oscar worthy. For starters, the film takes a stab at everything that is wrong with our society. It has a very local flavor (believe me, this is important when you are competing for best FOREIGN language film). I am glad Bollywood has grown beyond the days when they nominated the commercial crapfest 'Jeans' to the Oscars. Let us not take a step backwards please.

Udaan was a great film, that I wasn't expecting to be so good. Udaan should've been promoted more over the world and it would've done well at International film festivals and be appreciated as it was at Cannes. Saying that, Peepli Live is a good film also and maybe Oscar-worthy - a hell of alot better that that "My name is Khan" piece of sh!t that bollywood was pushing for an Oscar. How can the retards of bollywood think a film like "My name is Khan" has a chance in hell? Arvind, as you can see bollywood still hasn't grown. But I'm glad it lost out to Peepli Live, although it didn't make the shortlist.
Personally I think they should have put Udaan forward for Oscar consideration.
