Weird Color Scheme

What is the point of each child having a certain color scheme that dictates their outfits each episode?

Dan - Yellow
Trek - Green
Ricardo - Red
Cory - Brown/Orange
Angie - Blue
Kami - Pink
Jordan - Purple

Also, Dan's mom is in Blue as well 99% of the time.

I dont know. Perhaps they dont want to confuse the younger viewers by having the characters in different colored outfits for each episode. So the little watchers would have an easier time identifying the cast and recognize them easier. But Dan does wear a bit to much yellow. It makes it seem like that is his signature color.
