We thought this movie was great, good acting, emotionally affecting. But a couple of things puzzled us and weren't clear from the script:

Who took the photos 4 years ago? Was it Dale? And why? Just out of homophobia? And why plaster them all over town now? We keep getting led to believe that it was Burner, but apparently he wasn't the culprit.

What was the situation with the husband? He and Alex seem to be on good terms. So why are they getting divorced? And why did they get married in the first place? It occurred to us that he was also gay and this was simply a marriage of convenience for both of them, as a cover for being gay, but the script didn't make this very clear.

Her marriage with her husband was a sham marriage. They never say it but he himself was probably gay. They both benefit from the marriage as it is 'cover' for their homosexuality.

I think he was in the Marines as well. So, you see how it worked, no?

There was effectively no reason for her to stay married to him after this and it would have been in his best interest to divorce her because there would be too many questions tied to her and him- 'if she's a lesbian, what about him?'

Don't know what the meth cooker's problem is.
