I figure out what that black goo was.

I'm starting to think that it was food brought to that planet by the engineers because it was on their ship in cannisters. And in the beginning, the engineer drank the black goo and died.

So, back on that other planet where the rest of the film takes place, I think the chemical reaction between the engineers respiration and the atmosphere of the planet somehow contaminated the black goo (food). When the engineers ate the contaminated goo, they died from infection.

The contaminated black goo (food) mutates other living organisms after being ingested, like those parasitic wormlike insects that were living in the dirt, into hostile giant lifeforms that have their own reproductive cycle. And just like all other lifeforms, they go through evolution. The first face hugger was giant because it came from a giant human. The first xenomorph becomes a giant queen that looks more humanlike because its DNA sliced with the giant engineer.

Hopefully the other prequel movies will explain how subsequent xenomorphs looked more insectlike.

Knowing Ridley Scott and his propensity for undercutting his movies by shoehorning inane ideas that take the story in absurd directions, I'd say the black goo is the Engineers' collected semen or that of another species. For them it births all life, but in the wrong hands it can infect/mutate into something malevolent and merciless.

Maybe they had fluffers, I don't know, but the point is they jerked their pee-pees off into vats in order to "seed" (see what Ridley did there with a metaphor?) worlds with new life. There have been many theories from fans along these lines, and if I'm not mistaken Scott himself and some other key personnel have alluded to this.

The important question, though, is how they jerked themselves. Was it in a circle? Did they each manage themselves, or was it a chain of hand-holding? What does their porn look like, or does their race have a special chant to conjure orgasm? These are important questions that Ridley Scott will address head-on in the next Alien film - no bones about it!

I take it Dallas self deleted in this thread - is that how it works here?

He was probably thinking of a way to insult me more.

Did you report his post above mine here though?

I'm not bothered if you did I'm just wondering if we're going to have IMDb all over again (And if so what sort of timescale does it take to go from reporting to removal?).

reply

No I didn't.

You can't report a post that has been deleted.

Hey dingus, where have I said I reported a deleted post?

Is there a barrel somewhere which is meant to be shot at you should be swimming in?

"Neckbeard who cried wolf at this point dingus."

I'm not following.

Terry is being a dingus - that's all that you need to know within this subforum.

The movie is so focused in hammering the audience with annoyingly unsubtle religious messages and imagery that I'm now convinced that the black goo is Satan's cum.

reply

"annoyingly unsubtle religious messages"

Unsubtle messages? Dude, the movie is about a cross-wearing Christian who is looking for the creators of mankind and addressing her beliefs by questioning who created the creators.

The story has blatant religious themes, there is no attempt to make a major story element "subtle," and they are not "messages." Criticizing it as "unsubtle" is like saying that Star Trek has "unsubtle scientific messages." That just sounds ridiculous and makes you sound foolish (or proves you are).

I fail to see your point.

I fail to see your point.

Not surprising.

Yes.

You are not making one as per always Spanners.

It would be nice if you did one day, just for a bit of change.
