'New In Town'

This is a better version of 'New In Town'. The main reason is because Kristin Chenoweth is enjoyable to watch and Renee Zellweger is not... in my opinion, of course. Plus, the ending to this movie seemed more believable than the ending to 'NIT'. Plus, Renee and Harry had zero chemistry. Anyone agree??

totally--the only funny thing about Zellweger in NIT was when she was drunk on the porch and fell off. That was funny. But Harry Connick, Jr is always good to watch. Maybe a movie with Kristin and Harry? I've always wondered why Kristin isn't in more movies--she's great.

I probably might check that movie.
Although I enjoyed this TV movie,I find it highly predictable.

I'm not really their target audience, but I think love stories are supposed to be predictable. I mean, viewers are disappointed when lovers choose the one they don't like.

Occasionally, the writer gets cute and sets up a triangle, but then they have to start telegraphing which one to like so you don't start cheering for the one they decided will be the loser at the end. (See "Bridget Jones Diary") Or they will set up a partner who is unable to commit (See "Four Weddings and a Funeral") but you really know its only a distraction and they will get together in the end. Or else the film has been mis-categorized.

To date, and to the best of my memory, the only love story whose ending I could not predict ahead of time was "Old Yellar."

I prefer 'New In Town.' I really enjoyed the dialogue - the writing was good - and I liked all of the actors. Florida and Minnesota - good contrasts!
