Way over budget to be a success

It wasn't that this movie was a flop making well over $100 million

It's that it cost way too much to make at $150 million ?

Did they just not care about this budget?

I just watched it 3 years after it was released and have to say I really enjoyed it. I never knew it was a movie about Jack Frost though until a friend of mine told me. Truthfully, I never even heard of the movie until then.

There doesn't appear to be much merchandising out on it.

McDonald's toys and some Hallmark ornaments and that's just about it.

I was shocked to find no line of toys in stores at all.

yeah I think Dreamworks just spent too much money on the budget...the movie actually grossed over $300 million, that's not bad, if the budget wasn't so huge, this movie would've been a real box office success. I think $150 million was too much for the budget, if they had just reduced the budget down by $50 million, it would've been enough for them to make a good profit from it.
