Jamie and Jack are related

Anyone else notice that jack and Jamie look at alike

reply

I disagree, I thought they both looked very different...but we'll never know for sure whether they're actually related or not.

reply

They have the same hair and eye color and we don't know what ever happened Jacks sister

reply

just having the same hair color and eye color is hardly "looking alike", there are many people who have the same hair and eye colors and they still look very different...I have black hair and brown eyes and so does billions of other people, but the only person in the world I've seen who I look alike with is my dad.

As for Jack's sister and the rest of his family, well in the movie he has been Jack Frost for about 300 years, so surely his immediate family are all dead...but I'm sure he probably has some distant descendants in his family tree who are still alive, and they were just never mentioned in the movie. But whether or not Jack and Jamie are related we will never know for sure.

reply

Okay but jack seems to be drawn to Jamie

reply

Jamie was the first boy that caught Jack's attention, and Jamie was the only boy in his group of friends who seemed to really believe in the guardians and so many other mythical figures, he seemed to believe in everything, and I think that's what made him the last light and why Jack was drawn to him. Although Jamie initially caught Jack's attention when he heard Jamie asked "Who is Jack Frost"? Jamie didn't know who Jack Frost was in the beginning, and Jack wanted to be seen and noticed, so I think in the beginning he wanted Jamie to notice him. Jamie was also the first child ever to actually see all the guardians...except Jack at first, but Jamie eventually started to believe in Jack when Jack made snow in Jamie's room, Jamie also became the first child ever to believe in Jack and see him. And Bunny also became quite close to Jamie's sister Sophie...so I think the guardians in general were more drawn to Jamie specifically, because he believed in all of them, he was the last light, the last hope they had to defeat the Boogie Man.

reply

Many fans suggest that Jamie and Sophie are descendants of Jack's sister. There's a ton of fan-fiction stories and pictures/drawings exploring this angle, mainly Jack seeing a picture of Jamie's something-something relative and realizing it's his sister.
Personally, I don't see the resemblance. Of course, I don't see family resemblances really well anyway (even among my own family) so maybe I'm not the best judge on the subject. But if other people believe they're related and DreamWorks neither confirms nor denies it, then the fans shall continue on!

reply

it is indeed still possible for Jack and Jamie to be related in some way through Jack's sister, but we can only speculate on that, we will never know for sure...unless Dreamworks decides to make a sequel, which I doubt they would, even though I would love a sequel.

reply

As much as I would love a sequel that would explain a few (TON) of things, I worry about how they would explain everything.
If they did decide to make a sequel, which I would totally support, I want it to expand forward and answer these questions to help the characters develop. If Jamie and Jack are related, I would want that information to mean something, not just settle fans' curiosity and speculations.

reply

Both Jack and Jamie's mothers are voiced by the same voice actress (Emily Nordwind). That could be a coincidence, but it builds upon the theory that they are indeed related.
