Finale: Does anyone else think the second hour...

...almost felt like an epilogue? I usually feel like anything that's after the wedding reception is anti-climactic.

Since Lucrezia was pregnant on her wedding day and it was an issue, we did have to get to the birth; no problem. Julian had to recover the religious medallion and get the news that Carmelo would have a long sentence.

It did not surprise me that Rosario did not attend the wedding. I knew she would never accept Julian.

Josue looked very 70s when he told Padre Mattias that he was "joining the Peace Corps." (so to speak)

No surprise about Justina.

Did anyone else feel apprehensive when Lucrezia handed the baby to Rosario?

Finally, Rosario did Lucrezia a big favor by committing suicide.

I'm glad that after Rosario committed suicide we didn't have to go through the drama of recuperating her body and watching everyone in tears over this incident. I like how they just cut to three years later. I agree with you, Venus, when you say that Rosario did Lucrecia a favor by killing herself. Had she lived, Lucrecia would have spent the rest of her life trying to change what her mother felt for her and that just would have created new problems in her marriage. Muerto el perro, se acaba la rabia.

I couldn't help feeling sorry for Rosario at the end. I'm not making excuses for the way she treated Lucrecia, but imagine having a daughter that looks just like the man that raped you and knowing that that man was also your father. If Rosario had gotten professional help from the beginning, things might have been different. Keeping it to herself all those years tormented her and in the end it killed her.

The second part did feel somewhat of an epilogue except for Rosario's death. I already knew this was going to happen because some bozo posted the ending on here without any spoiler warnings and I accidently read it. This person never posts on here anyway but decided at the end to ruin it. Some peple are just mean.

I agree with your comment about Lucrezia; she would never have given up and Julian would eventually have had to put his foot down or leave so as not to lose his mind.

Rosario probably resisted the idea of seeing a shrink. I shocks me that she never told Padre Mattias unless it was to avoid hearing him say that she should tell Paulino.
