"tiny house" is an actual thing??

That people go for, I mean?

That entire house looks to be about the size of my kitchen (in an apartment in NYC). If I were in it with another person (and there is no way I would go to the woods by myself) for anything over a few hours, I'd quickly become claustrophobic.

In addition to what Lori said about wanting warmth and the sun on her vacation, I want nice living conditions that I enjoy (or at least don't mind) staying in.

Not a single one of those messages says anything about the size, so what was the point of posting this link?

reply

What was the point in making a basically duplicate thread ?

reply

How was it duplicate when I am making an entirely different point?

If you have nothing to say about what I am actually asking, please stop responding.

I remember feeling claustrophobic from just watching this video about a woman living in a 90 sq.ft. apartment (let alone being in it - I don't think I could). I mean, my kitchen is 120 sq. ft., and it's not like I can imagine living in it.

And then I watched a video of a guy in a 78 sq.ft. apt, with a bathroom outside the apartment that he shares with three other people, and that made me realize how little I appreciate what I have...

However, I have to reiterate: my original point was about willingly spending a VACATION in a space that small, which I am finding somewhat hard to buy. A vacation is supposed to be an escape from one's daily reality, not something so depressing.

My husband and I are looking at buying a tiny home. It's 307 sq ft. The kitchen in it actually has more storage and counter space than the one we have now in our 750 sq.ft. apartment. The tiny home has lots of windows to let in great light, has a full size kitchen, washer/dryer, and a 3/4 bath. The sleeping lofts and high ceilings, along with the windows, makes it feel very spacious.

Y A W N !

Just try living on a submarine for 4-5 months @ a time ..

The kitchen in my current house is 10X the size of what was my 'personal' space on the USS Nautilus.

Once again though, what does this have to do with my actual question?

Oops sorry:

It was a rhetorical question though. Why get so uptight no one is addressing a non-serious question? Is tiny house a thing? Well...people didn't start an imaginary business, so think it through. Also, and sit down for this, just because YOU personally would not want a tiny house, other people are not you and have different preferences.

Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that I'll be over here looking through your stuff.

I wouldn't describe my reaction as "uptight", I was just insulted by his response. If my topic is such a "yawn", then why the frik was he replying in the first place? Most threads, both on here and other message boards, are of no interest to me, so I don't participate in them.

Besides, it's not like his response contributed anything to the discussion.

And no, a vacation where I get cabin fever from just being with my companion does not sound like fun to me. If I am the only one who thought of that, then oh well.
