What, no EXP?

One thing I enjoyed about 09 was creating a pro and slowly building him up through his career.
You played a match and depending on how well you did, you earn EXP to up your stats.
10 does not have EXP.
I have created a pro, played some games, but not earnt any EXP at all.

Instead they have this "accomplishments" thing. Where you have to do certain tasks (score from a header, score a penalty, etc).

So basicaly, I can not create my player the way I want to or to suit my style of playing.
For me, being FORCED to play a certain way in order to build up your player is flawed.

very true, because i have a certain way of scoring goals on fifa,i cant develop my player much more than i can now.most of my goals are built up and are from a closer range.

I don't have FIFA 09 so perhaps my frame of reference is skewed; the last football game I really got into was Pro Evo 5 where you could choose to train up certain areas but got most of your "exp" by playing matches.

I have to say I quite like FIFA 10's method of player evolution, even though I can understand the frustration of not having total control. But the thing is, a real-life pro DOESN'T have total control of his destiny - his managers will earmark him for a role, maybe recognize qualities the player doesn't realize he has. For example, Ryan Babel likes to think of himself as a centre forward, but his managers at Ajax and Liverpool have both played him wide on the left. Likewise, I created my own pro as a central midfielder, but my manager at Valencia reserves has played me interchangeably on the right and left sides, and consequently I'm developing quicker in the dribbling and crossing areas.

Aside from accomplishments, there is also the form meter which (as far as I can tell) is influenced by your match performance as a whole - you may gain +1 in your "base" crossing rating by putting in two crosses during a game, but if you missed your other 10 crosses then you won't get a form boost, whereas a player who finds the target with, say, 15 out of 17 crosses during a game, will have a big form boost bonus on top of his "base" rating.

All in all, I think it is an excellent reflection of a REAL professional football career, whereas previous football games were based in the realm of fantasy. I like it.

It's not THAT great really.
You ONLY get to add power to your shots if you score a certain way that is dictated to you and you have no conrtol over?
Where as in the "real world" you add power to you shots the more you train and play...or "earn experience".
This is how it worked in 09, the more you played, the more EXP you earnt. And you built your character to suit YOUR play style.
In 10, EVERY character becomes exactly the same if they all carry out the required accomplishments. Both you an I could create a chracter and do the moves on the list...and we would end up with the exact same character. How does that make any "real world" sense?

The form thing I have no problem with, that was in 09 too and that makes sense, the better or worse you play affects your stats.

To make "real world" comparisons to this new "accomplishments" idea is flawed. Name me 1 footballer that instanlty got better at a certain skill the moment he scores from a specific way that he HAS to adhear to in order to become a better player?
As far as I'm aware, players train and get better by playing matches...not by completing certain tasks in a check list kind of manner.

Sorry the 10 way just does not work.
