Gannicas Hated/Loved

I hated and loved Gannicus. Gannicus was one sneaky bastard when he pursued Melitta behind Oenomaus back. I feel saddened for Oenomaus on how Melitta and Gannicus cheated him. Yes, there were forced to have sex, but after that Gannicus pursued Melitta. Melitta really loved Oeonomaus, I think she would of picked him than Gannicus. I think Gannicus is overrated little whiney guy, he should of just slept other women forget Melitta. Gannicus was no friend to Oenomaus. He cares about himself, drinks, sleeps, basically he has no honor. Gannicus should of left the Ludus and moved on. I think Oenomaus forgave to easily. In end, Gannicus gets crucified, so what you reap what you sow.

Oenomaus definitely forgave him too easily/quickly.

I don't get how Melitta fell for Gannicus. They were forced to have sex, she ended up liking it and wanted more? Terrible.

Yeah. I love the show, but that plot gave off really creepy "rape is love" vibe. I prefer to think of them as just getting messed up and confused. People respond to rape a number of ways after all. I'd like to think that if Melitta lived, they would have realized it wasn't really love.

I'm not really sure if that really works for Gannicus though. He "loves" her so much that he doesn't want to stay if he can't have her (body)? Then later, he doesn't even tell Oenomaus what actually happened?

When I watched it, I sensed something between them (some spark) before it ever happened...I think AFTER it did happen, that's when Melitta and Gannicus each realized that the other one felt it too...
