Why not purchase Sura's freedom?

So once Spartacus found out that Sura was being brought to Batiatus as a slave why not approach Batiatus about purchasing her freedom instead of planning the escape? Before he found out that Sura would be a slave as well Spartacus seemed perfectly fine with remaining a gladiator. Had he went to Batiatus about purchasing her freedom and expressed his gratitude and desire to stay on fight for him Batiatus might not have killed Sura.

I know the real answer is for drama and so there would be a show I just wished it would have been addressed in the show as an option.

He still would have killed Sura to keep Spartacus from desiring to leave

He didn't want to want her to spend another day as a slave.

Of course, as Joen said, she would have been killed anyway.

Right that's why he planned his escape. Just Spartacus goes from 0 to 100 real quick. He goes from asking Oenomaus if candles were allowed in his room because Sura liked them implying that he was willing to stay as a gladiator to planning his escape once he found out that Sura would be Batiatus' slave. I just would liked a scene were Spartacus tries and Batiatus says no because he's spent so much money finding her and even with Spartacus' winnings from Theokles it wouldn't be enough.

Yeah more than likely Batiatus would have still killed Sura to ensure Spartacus stayed but maybe not if Spartacus expressed a lifelong debt to him or asked that Sura's debt be added to his or something. Like I said it was all done for drama and so the show would have a plot just kinda bugs me it was never brought up not even by Varro when he was trying to talk Spartacus out of escaping.

There is a scene when Battiatus begins the search and he tells Spartacus "Until then, WIN. Her freedom requires substantial coin on your part."

So they both took advantage of the moment Spartacus the Champion of Capua would raise the fortunes of Battiatus while Spartacus himself would be alive long enough to see his wife again. They both had hidden motives born out of necessity after that point Killing Sura vs Escaping which changes EVERYTHING. But your question is addressed often throughout that arc of the show.

If they had purchased Sura's freedom, then what?? Batiatus probably wouldn't have let her live in his villa if she wasn't working there. So she would have to live somewhere else where she would be alone and Spartacus wouldn't be around to protect her. Atleast if she was Batiatus's slave, she would be under his protection. Batiatus wouldn't let anything happen to her, knowing how much she meant to his champion, and she would be fed everyday.
