For a "modern" show, it's a little behind.

What is with all the lack of affection between Mitchell and Cam? They are a married couple, are they not? For such a modern show, it's like a sitcom out of the 80s or something. No kissing, no physical affection. This show just depicts them as two bitchy roommates with a kid. Their whole relationship is left entirely up to assumption. I'm a little offended by that. I'm not saying they should swallow each other whole on camera. i'm just saying, if they are a part of this "modern family" then allow them to be as affectionate as the other families. What is so wrong about that? Hell, commercial TV loosened up on the male kissing thing long ago, Will and Grace opened it up - even in its original run. Daytime soaps have been doing it for years. I say kiss or break up.

That's what Cam loves about Mitchell... "a little behind."

LOL good one!

This is a comedy, they're not really going to delve too deeply into the romantic aspect like they would in a drama, gay or otherwise. Plus, it's also focusing on two other families. It isn't centered around one in particular.

I see Cam and Mitchell express their love here and there, just about as much as Jay and Gloria. There were episodes in the past that has them in bed together, kissing, all of the good stuff heterosexual couples do.

We don't need to see them giving each other facials to know they're a happily married couple.

“Lack of love and affection”

Sounds like every married couple. All racing to get away from eachthother every chance they get.

The amount of respect and communication they have for each other is unrealistically friendly really.

The show is great.

How often do you see Claire and Phil actually kissing? Or Jay and Gloria? Why should Cam and Mitch get special writing just because they're gay?

this guy is a pervert, he doesn't deserve thoughtful replies

I watch the show because of the richly developed characters, the perfect casting, and the great writing. I don't watch it to monitor how often and how long each couple kisses. Seriously, why would any rational person care?
