What the hell was she thinking!

Sonia must have lost her mind helping that lady commit suicide. I can't even watch it--its so upsetting to see what she did and know what she is going to be dealing with in weeks to come. That woman's family is going to nail her ass to the wall. She already lost her man, now she is going to lose her nursing license...freedom. Hell, Nick is probably going to be the one to arrest her. I guess it makes for good drama though.

Personally I have mix feelings about the whole mess. I felt sorry for the woman, but hoped Sonia wouldn't do it. I think Sonia should have reported her death as sucide. The woman already gupped down a whole bottle of the house keepers pills, if they decide to do an autopsy and all those chemicals are still in her body, Sonia is in trouble.

I didn't feel sorry for the lady. My heart breaks for Sonia b/c she could lose so much. I wouldn't be surprised if that lady left her a huge chunk of $ which is why the family is looking at her sideways. All in all, you are so right--Sonia should have called it in as a suicide saying she left xyz meds carelessly accessible to the patient. The way I see it now Sonia has a real chance of going to jail. DO NOT PASS GO! Go straight to jail.

Frankly the whole thing is BS. When my father was on homecare all the medication was clearly accessible including the liquid morphine. Sonia didn't DO anything so there is no reason she should get in trouble. You are not obligated to hide or lock up medication in a patients own house. If a grown woman decided to kill herself, then that's her choice.

It's not even real drama, it's highly BS invented drama that's going nowhere. Sonia didn't administer medication to her, the woman took it herself. She's in the clear.

Eeyore -- I was thinking the same thing, that she was left money (or some other valuable) in the will and that's why they're so interested in investigating her. I feel bad for Sonia, too, because it's definitely something the woman wanted. The woman was of sound mind and ready to go.

Queen -- I agree. Most patients in the hospital have access to a button that gives them a dose of morphine. At a certain point, the doctors tell families to just let them get a dose of it whenever necessary. They know the patient is in excruciating pain and that, eventually, they will overdose on the morphine.

In a couple states (that I know of) a form of assisted suicide is legal under the Death with Dignity Act. Terminal patients are given the meds to commit suicide when they're ready, at home with the people they love.

As long as the doctor/nurse isn't shoving the meds down the patients throat, I don't think they should be held responsible. Though sick, the majority of patients still know what they want and can make decisions.

I agree. This whole thing is BS. Of course Sonia might feel guilty in a way but I hope they clear it up. She is NOT obligated to lock up medicine.

I am behind a few eps, so have only just seen it, but:
Since I would probably do the same thing in the woman's place and Sonia is not obligated to lock up anything, I do hope they are not gonna make a problem out of it, because it would be too far-fetched to be believable. Love the show otherwise.

She broke up with me through Backstreet Boys lyrics! If you knew it was them, you deserved it!

what was the song playing in that ep?

Well, as a Gilmore Girls fan, the whole subplot had added pathos. The actress was in many roles, but still, I associate her the most with that one. So it is like Mrs. Gilmore was doing that heroin.

Anyways, if I was in her position, I too would think about euthanasia there. The issue is getting Sonia involved. It's hard to just watch people suffer and once she took the pills, she would have suffered a lot if Sonia did nothing. That's an ongoing theme of the show. Veronica broke rule after rule for her patients. I think this thread is a bit heartless myself.
