MORE SEASON 5 SPOILERS! Gail and Holly

I don't think that the writers intended on keeping Gail and Holly together. I think they greatly underestimated the lesbian fandom rage, and thought that breaking them up would cause no backlash. They were wrong.

It was pretty obvious from the get-go that the writers weren't too keen on this couple. They didn't give their relationship, or Holly as a character any development whatsoever. So they breakup for this really dumb reason that even the most casual of fans would roll their eyes at. The lesbian rage squad comes down on the show hard, and they try to get them back together. They still don't like Holly though, so they ship her off to San Fran knowing that Gail can't go. I would be surprised if Holly for some reason decided to stay.

Anyway, I don't really care either way. I just wish the whole thing wasn't handled so damn lazily near the end. Her "coming out" was also laughably bad.

And I like Gail. I do. The writing has just been so so so bad this season.
