Documentary Done Right

This is a phenomenal series where the filmmakers actually got it right. Unlike most modern documentaries, there are no attempts to hit you over the head with a not so subtle cliche message. Instead, Brick City allows real people to tell their stories in their own words. It is inspiring to see those with so many factors against them, fight to liberate themselves not only physically, but also mentally, from the cyclical restraints of poverty and violence that plague urban cities across the United States.

In its essence, Brick City is a unique commentary on the human condition, and shows mankind at its best under some of the worst conditions imaginable.

This documentary really makes you care about these people. I want to know what happened to the ex-offender who was working at the construction site and then got laid off. I hope they give an update on individual stories at the end.
