Why does this only have an 8 rating?

Amongst the fan base that watched Brick City, I expected to see at least a 9.3.

The show suffers from Wire-itis. It's a gripping, intelligent reflection of some of the major ills that plague ALL urban cities in America, from the higher ups politically to regular citizens on the block, and that is not the cup of tea of people that want to ignore the other side's reality of the American Dream. Even if it's well conceived, shot great, and well edited as any other reality show on television, although its more documentary than reality TV. Difference being Brick City isn't making sh!t up.
