Ever notice how intelligent tv lacks viewers....

A shame our society will flock to Jersey shore tv {not hating just saying]...yet shows that have real substance lacks the attention.
I was born and raised in Newark my entire family is still there though i moved to Houston for college and stayed,[yet I go back every other month or so] I'm very happy and proud of all the efforts going into seeing that Newark pushes forward with the hopeful agenda that it can be a better place for it's citizens, and Brick City is a riveting well crafted doc show that deserves accolades, and credit for illustrating the struggles, successes, turmoils, and tribulations the city endures. [and yes cats from Newark can talk this way lol]...

I only just found out about Brick City a week ago, and just started watching the first season today. It is truly one of the best reality/documentary series I have seen in a long time, if ever. I know exactly what you mean though; TV shows that require some thinking or that are very intelligent go ignored. Rubicon on AMC was a very interesting and intelligent show, but failed because viewership went down. That happens to many intelligent shows, sadly.

I did notice it received an Emmy Nomination in 2010, so obviously someone was watching. And am glad it got a second season, I hope it is more than just 4 episodes though. I have friends that live in Jersey, not Newark, but close. I will be telling them and everyone I know to watch this series. I also plan on purchasing the first season because I find it that compelling and interesting.

The whole New Jersey craze may not be the worst thing, because maybe it had something to do with Brick City getting another season. I’m not saying that is true, but you never know. All the other reality shows based in NJ have been extremely successful, even though they are not anything close to Brick City. lol

Idk but I think BC got a second season b/c of Cory. In political circles there is talk of him being the Next Big Thing, and this is actually the second doc about him, there is also a film, I believe it is called Streetfight.

Yeah it is called Streetfight and its a very good documentary. That was the first time I heard of him and the reason I watched this series. It has been fascinating watching him operate under the financial meltdown and a constantly shrinking city budget and still hold on to the optimism of what Newark can be. I have been burned every single other time I have thought this but Booker seems like he genuinely cares about public services and not just climbing the political ladder.

1st time I saw him, I knew there was something special about him, like U can't keep good talent down, do I agree with his politics no, but he is a one in a million.

Sharpe James, eh he had his moment in the sun and he should still be in jail. James wouldn't allow the film, "New jersey drive". 1995 to be filmed there and he actually told booker, "I don't have time to explain to U how to B black", da *beep* is wrong with U James? I knew then, he needed to go and he did.

Spoiler alert for them spoil sports out there! Y'all like spoiled milk, stop crying over it!
