I just found it so tediously dull,no laughs,no warmth to the characters like we had in East is East,no connection with anyone. Maybe it's just me, a lot of people seemed to like it but this really for me was a huge disappointment,I started dozing off.
shareI don't know why but I found this film really weird, - it was nothing like the first film which made easily made it a film in it's own right. The actor Aqib Khan - did an okay performance - but I don't think he was as good as the original actor (Jordan Routledge).
Setting it in Pakistan seemed a bit surreal - the film wasn't necessarily supposed to be funny - it was more drama based - showing how Om had to face up to what he did, and how his son Sajid should realise who he was.
The film was also too short and they rushed it - overall I would say it was an averagely okay film - giving it a 6/10. Compared to East is East it was definitely a downer though.
I've never quite understood why someone would walk out of a movie they've paid for, let alone boast about it as if it was something to be proud of. I don't understand this way of thinking...probably the same type of person who walks out of a match when their teams losing, I suppose.
shareActually I have changed my mind - the film was from a completely different perspective and not supposed to be funny like East is East was - I have also changed my mind on Aqib in retrospect he actually acted quite well.
shareI'm glad to see the film takes a couple of days to find it's place. So many films these days are fluffy and superficial. In actual fact, as funny as East is East was, there was a great deal of personal drama in there too. I'm waiting for this to come out on DVD so I can enjoy it in the comfort of my living room.

Lol yeah it was a huge disappointment to a lot of people because they all assumed it was going to be as good as the first one. I was the opposite, i was expecting the worst because i had heard all the bad reviews this film was getting but you know what, sure it wasn't as good as the first but it honestly isn't as bad either as people are saying!
Seriously its an average film imo, not great but not *beep* either. Definitely not the worst thing I have seen.
