The Sufi

Actually one thing did jar and that was the Sufi character....he spoke English like a native moreso than George who'd actually lived there ?!?!! Why would the Sufi be so conversant with the English language and with a Yorkshire accent to boot ?

reply

I assumed he was educated in England.

Maybe in Leeds!

I am guessing the guy was well travelled and well educated, then finally decided to live a more peaceful life in the rural areas of his home.

Yes the yorkshire accent either signified that the sufi had lived in yorkshire or the man who plays him is originally from 'shire and did a bad job hiding his accent.

As for being a good english speaker, he doesnt necessarily have to be well travelled. If they are well educated in general then their english can be flawless. I say this because i have family members in pakistan who have never stepped foot outside the country but their english is also incredibly accurate, in fact i'll even say some of them were more well spoken than me!

Never understood how it happened but it happened!
