she didn't change it up or offer a nuanced performance. maybe the script or book called for it, but she was so uptight with a stick up her arse. i wonder if the real vera was like that.

i'm a fan of alicia's since 'a royal affair', but her vera's performance reminded me of the character she played in 'pure'.
