Q about the incidental music composed for the film

The film has some soundtrack music composed by Dario Marianelli. At the end of the credits plays a short bit of music http://www.myspace.com/dariomarianelliconductor/music/songs/over-my-de ad-body-89851708.

Where have I heard this before? Has it been used in recent car ads and decongestant commercials? Does it sound like some other piece of music? Anyone recognize it?

That clip sounds VERY similar to the opening notes of the Quartet from Rigoletto.

It may be related...in the DVD extras, the composer commented that his job was to find a way to "tie together" the varied pieces of classical music that feature in the film. I thought he did a great job.

They are the opening bars from the Quartet from Verdi's Rigoletto: "Bella figlia dell'amore."

To me it sounds like any number of other film scores. Particularly those by Rachel Portman.

I now realize that the piano part is identical to the opening credits music for Transparent (2014).
