Strong similarities with the Danish film "The Hunt" (2012).
Did anyone else see strong similarities between this film, Broken, and the acclaimed and controversial Danish movie "The Hunt" ("Jagten") (2012) by Thomas Vinterberg?
Even though they are both different films they oddly enough share quite a few similarities.
Let's see.
Both films, in a way, deal with and feature characters that are, directly and indirectly, accused of sexual child abuse and both suffer the physical and emotional aftermaths as a result.
Both films, in a way and to an extent, have a young girl involved in troubling situations that affect them as a result.
Both films feature a European actress playing a girlfriend of a character that is somehow caught in the middle of the troubling situations.
Both films state that as wrong indeed as such actual abuse is it is still wrong but in its own and very much troubling way to falsely accuse someone of such abuse and try to send a message about it and how we should be careful here at all costs.
Both films have a brief example of a police investigation and in both cases the suspect is released without charge.
Both films have a teacher that is essentially a victim of false abuse allegation that is either directly or indirectly linked towards him telling off a young girl for something.
And there maybe others.
How about you?
