THIS SHOULD BE IN TOP 250

I think it says it all, even the similar themed ( and largelly overated ) Into The Wild is on this list...

No chance. I enjoyed this film but it belongs nowhere near the list of 250 best films ever made.

And Into the Wild is far better.

You mad bruv.

Each one is good on his own, but Into the Wild is more popular because:
- Sean Penn is a respected actor/director. Emilio Estevez is that former teen actor from the 80s that used to make comedies and faded in the 90s
- Into the Wild is hip, "cooler", is about a young adult that leaves all beyind, anti-matherialist, while The Way is about a old man dealing with the unexpected loss of his son.
- Into the Wild is genuinely american, The Way is technically a spanish movie
- Into the Wild soundtrack is more popular
- Into the Wild is a true story, The Way is a feel-good story

As so is just a matter of opinions, but while I enjoyed Into the Wild I think that myself as portuguese/european like more The Way

There are some films that aren't necessarily among the greatest films ever made, but which have a certain special hold & appeal, films that really speak to the viewer. For me, "The Way" is one of those films. I wouldn't put it in the Top 250 list either, but it does speak to me, and I find it's one I can return to many times. It's the difference between an official canon & a personal one, I guess.
